As with all the Greek i.slands, Kos is rich in culture and history. If you love ruins and old buildings then you will not be disappointed. To name just one, the magnificent fortress which still stands today can be seen as you enter Kos harbour. This was built by the Knights of St. John.
If you love to spend your time on the beach, then you will find some of the most stunning sandy beaches in the Greek islands. If you seek a quieter beach, then visit the beaches in the west otherwise Paradise beach is the best.
Where to fly from
As with all the Greek islands (excluding Cyprus), Kos is shut from November until April. That said you can find flights from most major UK airports. Gatwick having the most choice.

Kos is home to some of the best beaches in Europe. Therma beach is small but peaceful as per the name, the waters are hot due to a thermal spring feeding it.
Kos is really a destination for culture buffs. You will be amazed at the history and amazing places of interest to visit.Paleo Pili is an old deserted village with a castle and worth a visit.
As with more tourist destinations you will find a range of international cuisine but when in Kos, do try a local tapas bar and enjoy the delights on offer. You will be given course after course which includes meat and fish.
