The ruggedly beautiful Costa Brava holiday coast stretches for 100 miles (160km) along the shores of Catalonia in Spain’s north-eastern corner, from Port Bou on the Franco-Spanish border to Tossa del Mar, just north of Barcelona. The coast is filled with high-rise resort developments and modern marinas catering to package tourists, but retains enough green hillsides and lonely, wild cliffs, coves and caves to belie its reputation as one of Europe’s busiest holiday destinations. However, this stretch of attractive, craggy coastline that has managed to preserve its natural exquisiteness whilst at the same time catering for torrent of tourists who come on vacation to sample its delights. In between lively modern resorts lie conventional fishing villages and abundant attractive inlets to explore, whilst inland lies the medieval Moorish monopoly of Girona. Its natural magnificence, everlasting miles of sandy beaches and summer sunbeams has made it an evident target for the tour operators.

Fantasy Island If you’re looking for something different to do with your family then why not come for a sensational day out at Illa Fantasia, one of Catalonia's top water parks, situated just outside Barcelona in a privileged natural setting. You'll find a wide range of wet and wild attractions to suit all ages and tastes, from the white knuckle to more sedate attractions. There are also shady landscaped garden and sunbathing areas where you can just lie back and relax while you watch the little ones having the time of their lives. The park has 22 water attractions including the sensational Wild River and all sorts of slides and toboggan runs. You'll also find 3 giant swimming pools, a children's park, mini golf and recreational areas. Kids will love the newest attraction, the spectacular Pirate's Labyrinth with its wet and wild fun and games. A whole world of attractions waiting for both children and adults. And for the perfect day out, you can enjoy a family meal in the picnic area ... if you can get the rest of the family out of the water. There are also plenty of bars, cafés and restaurants where can you get anything from a hamburger to a paella. Day trip to Port Aventura Have a great day out at Port Aventura and enjoy one of Spain’s most iconic theme parks; whether you’re on holiday or just enjoying a weekend getaway, with your partner, your children or whoever you’re bound to have the time of your life. Water World Lloret de Mar If you’re looking for a way to complete your well-earned holidays, then come for a sensational day out at Waterworld, a water park specially designed with families and children in mind with a wide variety of play areas and water attractions. Dare to have a go on the X-Treme Mountain, an incredible 260 metre long roller coaster with stomach churning gravity defying climbs and descents. Then see if you’re brave enough to try the Rafting River, Europe’s largest water attraction. Slide down the Water Rapid, a dynamic, snaking, twisting devil of a ride that will have you coming back again and again. A whole world of attractions waiting for both children and adults – you’ll also be spoilt for choice by or wide variety of restaurants and snack bars. Clients staying in Tossa de Mar should take the bus which goes between Tossa de Mar and Lloret de Mar. Day trip to Fiesta Adventure Enjoy the great amusement park Port Aventura during the whole day until late night to watch the Fiesta Aventura show. Placed in Salou, just two hours from the starting point, this park satisfies all family expectations. During the day you can visit the 5 areas that the park is divided in. They represent 5 world sections: Polynesia, China, Mexico, the Far West and the Mediterranean. Each area has a great variety of amusements for all ages: from the Dragon Khan Rollercoaster, with the highest vertical looping in the world, or the Fire temple, an amazing trip in the middle of the Mexican rainforest, to the carrousel and the turning tea cups. Port Aventura offers live shows and themed shops to all visitors. At night you can enjoy dinner in the restaurants and enjoy the night shows. Your day will culminate with the Fireworks show Fiesta Aventura in the Mediterranean area. Water, fire, lights and dances from the 5 different regions of the park. Once the show ends, around midnight (00:00) you will return to the bus to start the trip back to the starting point.

Entrada Gran Casino The Gran Casino Costa Brava is a great entertainment venue. Over the decades, this iconic venue has staged epic performances by some of the biggest names in show business. This season it offers a powerful programme featuring the ballet fantasy show, Flamenco Festival, as well as arias from famous operas and Spanish folk songs. Prepare to be blown away by the fire and passion of these pulsating performances. The extravaganza begins with a stunning performance of Flamenco Festival, choreographed by Jose Leon, one of the fastest and best flamenco dancers in the business. Expect an unforgettable show and experience the heart and soul of flamenco from Jose’s troupe of ten dancers. The second part of the evening features performances from guitar virtuoso Diego Cortes and sensational singer Sam, who will perform a series of opera favourites and haunting Spanish folk songs. Guests must provide proof of identity. Admission also includes entrance to the casino and a drink. Filming and photography are strictly prohibited during the show. No pets are allowed except guide dogs.

Medieval Night with Dinner Can you imagine travelling back in time to the Middle Ages and sitting down to a banquet or having a drink at a castle at the same table with its lords and ladies while you watch knights jousting? Well that’s exactly what you’re going to do in this excursion. When you arrive at the castle, you’ll be received by the lord and owners of the fortress and be led to the stately dining room for a medieval-style dinner or drink. While you are eating you can watch jousting, medieval-style entertainment with knights testing their skills in different types of combats and feats of horsemanship. The dinner option includes an aperitif, vegetable soup, roast chicken with potatoes, homemade bread, ice cream and drinks (orangeade, rosé and sparkling wines). After dinner, you will be escorted by the lord himself to the Great Hall, where you can enjoy a performance of Spanish Dance and even dance yourself after the lords of the castle start the ball. The tour will finish at around midnight when you will be driven back to your resort. Proximity to horses may cause problems for allergy sufferers

Barcelona Zoo Have a great day out with all the family at Barcelona Zoo, located in the heart of the city in the Parc de la Ciutadella. Barcelona Zoo is one of the most modern zoos of the its kind in the world as well as being Spain's oldest, open to the public since 1882. It is spread out over 13 acres of parkland with different enclosures reproducing the natural habitats of the animals. You'll be able to see over 450 species of animals, housed in different enclosures for mammals, amphibians, reptiles and birds. Kids will love the children's corner where they can get up close to the tamer animals and all the family will enjoy the Dolphinarium where the dolphins perform their amazing tricks. One of the most famous inhabitants of the Zoo was Copito de Nieve, an albino gorilla who passed away in 1992. Visitors will still be able to view his descendants today. Other attractions include all the big names including lions, tigers, hippos as well as animals native to Spain such as the Iberian wolf. There is also a wide selection of shady picnic areas, bars, cafés and restaurants for you to relax and have lunch (at your own expense). Other attractions include a mini train, souvenir shops, a mini funfair and information panels and interactive zones for you to learn all about the zoo's denizens. The zoo is situated in the Parc de la Ciutadella and opens every day at 10am, closing in the summer at 7pm and in the winter at 5pm.

Aquarium Barcelona > Located in Barcelona, it is one of the biggest aquariums in Europe and the most important when it comes to Mediterranean species. The Aquarium is the most visited in Barcelona since it opened to the public. The centre offers special programs for university students and scholars motivating them to develop their own research projects. Apart from the gigantic Oceanary (more than 4.5 million litres of water) with a transparent tunnel 80 metres in length, the Aquarium has diverse themed tanks, with special focus on different Mediterranean and tropical biotopes. Visitors will be able to discover more than 11.000 living organisms of more than 450 different species. Not only the sharks will draw attention with their grandeur, but visitors may marvel at the beauty of the sea horses, the elegance of sea eagles and the colourful coral reefs, as well as the strange penguins, the odd moon fish, the piranhas and the squid.
