Crete Attractions and things to do on Crete

The Greek iisland of Crete offers something for everyone irrespective of age. The west of the island has retained most of the island's traditions and natural beauty whereas the northern part is a holiday Mecca offering all the usual trimmings of sun, sea and sand. In the peak season parts of the island are overrun by tourist who flock to the massive hotel complexes but fortunately you can still escape and explore the endless beaches, quaint Greek villages, coves, caves and gorges along with the inland mountainous area.

Crete has been ruled by the Romans, Turks and Venetian’s in the past and they have all left their mark on this Greek island. If all this sounds a little too energetic for you then the beaches on Crete can be as energetic or relaxing as you wish. Every type of water sport is on offer including some great windsurfing.
