Cheap Holidays in Spain
Beach Holidays
Since the 1960’s Spain has been the most visited country by British tourist mainly due to the short flight time and the noticeable difference in climate from that of the UK’s. Spain in the eyes of the bucket and spade holidaymaker can be split up into three main areas, the mainland Costa’s, the Balearic Isles and the Canary Isles.
The Costa’s cover all of the southern Mediterranean coast from the Costa Dorada in the north down to the Costa Almeria in the south. This vast area offers something for everyone and if you look closely enough you can still find parts that resemble the old Spain. The Costa del Sol and the Costa Blanca are open all year and offer mild winters yet very warm summers. The Costa Brave and the Costa Dorada are only open from May through to October but the climate is more pleasant during the peak months of July and August and is therefore better suited to families with young children. The Balearic isles offer a wide range of resorts with San Antonio on Ibiza and Magalluf on Majorca best left to the 18 to 30 crowd. This however shouldn’t stop tourist visiting these islands as they both offer more sedate resorts. The other Balearic Island is Menorca which is probably better for those looking for a more peaceful holiday. That leaves us with the Canary isles which consist of seven islands with the main four being Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. All offer great year-round sunshine holidays and for those who are seeking a lively holiday won’t go wrong with Playa de Las Americas on sunny Tenerife.
